Tug of War---Take Control of Your Weaknesses

The game of Tug of War is defined (according to Wikipedia) as a sport that directly puts two or more teams against each other in a test of strength: teams pull on opposite ends of a rope with the goal being to bring the rope a certain distance in one direction against the force of the opposing team's pull.

With that being said, I want to tell we are in a constant game of tug of war with our weaknesses. You have the enemy pulling on one side(fear, excuses, complacency), and the strength of God (His grace, promises, and all his help and restoration for you) on the other side. In the game of tug of war there's usually a knot tied in the middle and or a pit for the losing team to fall in to as too much of the rope gets on the opposing side; the side that wins

Whenever your weaknesses are before you its a game of tug of war in your mind, body, and spirit. Tittering and pulling back and forth your weaknesses are going back and forth, side to side and as the game goes one of the teams is going to ultimately win. Take control of your weaknesses on today. The game of tug of war will continue, you will have to continually fight and guess what you can WIN!  The more you become aware of how much God loves you and the promises he has for you and the power you have over the enemy's tricks and devices, you may continually battle, but the battles don't have to always last as long and you can WIN the war.

The game is a test of strength. You are strong in the Lord. I encourage you to keep on pulling and handling your weaknesses. You and God are the strongest team against the opposing team on the other side (the enemy). Pull and pull and be strong in your faith as you get the rope on the winning side. On your side you are able to confront your weakness whatever it may be and lay them at the feet of the all mighty and capable God. Sometimes is so discouraging to watch yourself pull and go back and forth with what you know is your weakness. Acknowledge your weakness and delight yourself in knowing God cares and is on your side. The comfort and realization of knowing God is there gives you the strength you need to stay in the game and win. I'm sure in the actual game the players arms get tired, they feel its the end and oh well. However, a word from your team captain (God whispering he will never leave or forsake you) is all you need to say you know what "we can do this!" Out of no where you seem to have Popeye's strength and confidence to finish off the game and become triumphant.

You can do this. Don't give in. If your arms get weak and you see your weakness getting away from you and the opposing team is near defeating you, be not discouraged. Get back in the game and finish strong. We all have a weakness and no matter what they are they do matter. Our weaknesses are where the enemy potentially has an area to come in and knock you off your game. Be strong on God's team (your side of the rope) to win the battle of tug of war. In tug of war there's always a team against another team. Your team needs you to be strong. In life as you battle with a weakness you are pulling for your team which is you, your peace of mind, your family, your children, your future, the sanctity of your marriage, your relationship with Christ etc...There's nothing too hard for God. Take hold of your weaknesses TODAY. Get counseling, talk to a trusted friend, confide in God, believe in your self, know that God has your back. To win the race, most importantly know that God will catch you when you fall and that the battle is not yours alone. God is on your side (your team)...the WINNING team.

Be encouragedMatthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
