A Much Needed Cleaning.

I've been away for a while but praise God for life and a chance to write and connect with you again. Here goes...

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

You may be familiar with a certain quote that says "if you change the way you think you change the way you live". I believe that to be very true. In many situations, its  how you look at it that determines your actions. Our minds are so powerful, yet they need a fine tuning just like everything else in our body once in a while. From personal experience and through others that I know, I can give many examples of how a change of attitude or a change in thinking completely turned people's lives and circumstances around...for the better.

All this got me to thinking. What about your heart? There's no doubt the heart and mind work together, but for this post I particularity thought of how much hurt and hatred people carry in their hearts.  Think of how devastated you've once been when someone you loved did you wrong or turned against you. What about the hurt within families that keep us from being around one another or even speaking. I feel like so much happens in our lives and we carry it around in our hearts. Unresolved circumstances and things we didn't understand or weren't ready for continue to pile up and we carry it day after day for the rest of our lives. What we carry in our hearts effects everything in our everyday life. I know how much I carry. Take a moment and think about what you are carrying in your heart that is in turn effecting your thoughts and actions and your life. 

A much needed cleaning is needed of my heart and yours. We got tired of carrying things in our hearts a long time ago, but we've learned how to deal with it and we even think sometimes that its gone because something temporarily fills the void and we "feel better". You may even think a hurting heart is ok. Its not ok to walk around with a dirty heart, a burdened heart, a worried heart, a hating heart, a troubled heart. God is ready to clean your heart if you ask him to rid your heart of everything hurting and un beneficial in exchange for a life free of bondage that you suffer. The suffering and confusion related to a torn and tarnished heart keeps you on a repeated cycle of bad decisions, difficult relationships, and false fulfillment in life...no true happiness and peace. Today is a good day to allow the beauty, truth, and promises of God's love to cleanse your heart like nothing else can. You wont regret it and you will feel free. All you have to do is ask God and truly give up all your hangups and shortcomings and allow him to mend and clean your heart. 

Prayer Starter: Father God thank you for loving us enough to continue to care and love on us as your children. Thank you for all your many blessings God. In the mighty name of Jesus we ask that you clean our hearts on today from any and everything we carry that keeps us from living a life of freedom that you promised. God I pray we we walk in confidence knowing you know what's best for us and allow you to give our heart a much needed cleaning. In Jesus name Amen.
